Smith Mountain Lake

This past weekend, my dad, Sam, Bobby, and I headed to Smith Mountain Lake for the weekend. Mom was supposed to come to, but because her best friend came down with swine flu, she was afraid of exposing Bobby and me to it and decided it was best not to come. We missed her and really wish that she could have been there too.

We got there Friday afternoon and checked into our state park cabin...very nice I might add. So we weren't truly roughing it, but that's alright since it decided to rain on Saturday. Despite the rain, we were able to hike (well all except me), make fires, roast smores, and enjoy our time together. I think that we have a little mountain man on our hands...he loved every minute being outside, and especially making the fires:) He and Sam have already started scoping out where in the backyard we will be putting in a fire pit.

Pumpkin Time

This past weekend we went to Hillridge Farm again for our pumpkin picking adventure. We went with the Parks family as we have the two previous years, and once again, a good time was had by all. Despite temps in the 40's and a slight on and off drizzle...we all made it with smiles on our faces. It was so fun to watch the kids enjoy all of the activities, as each year they seem to find more and more enjoyment in the activities and each other...or at least at times.

Enjoying the maze with Daddy

Where's Bobby?

The Cat in the Hat

I just finished listening to Bobby read or make up words to the Cat in the Hat Comes Back for about 45 minutes. Although I am frustrated that he didn't go right to bed, at least he stayed in his bed, and it was so cute to listen to him make up words to go along with the pictures. And some of them were even correct! Sometimes I just can't help but smile.

Funny

Bobby is talking more and more, and cracks me up on a routine basis. Here is one of the latest funnies:

He was taking a bath the other night, and we were talking about sharing things when his baby sister gets here. His response was to having to share anything with her was, "that's okay mommy, I'll just put her back in your tummy."

I couldn't help but laugh out loud at that one. He's got another thing coming if he thinks she's going back in after she is out:)

Have a great week!

We're Still Here...

It has truly been forever since I last posted. Time just somehow gets away from me:) And as fall is approaching, I realize how little time I really have before the peanut makes her appearance. So I will try to be more diligent in my postings over the next couple of months.

Bobby, Sam and I have been busy as usual...trips to Wilmington, playdates, visits from friends, and of course hunting season has started so Sam is making frequent weekend trips to the woods:)

Here are some pictures of our latest activities:
Fishing with Papa

The one man band

Playdate picnic lunch on the screened porch

Public Safety Day

A visit from Emilee, Emma and Elly included a trip to the Children's Museum and a cookie baking/decorating session.

So that just about wraps up the past couple of months and I will update again soon...I promise

It's a.....

GIRL!!!

We went for our ultrasound on Monday and among the many things, we were told that we are having a girl:) I still sort of can't believe that there will be another little girl on the Foy side of the family and the first little girl (this generation) on the Long/Godwin side of the family.

Bobby went with us and was very good through the whole thing. He did lose some interest, as we were looking at organs and measuring bones, but overall, he was somewhat interested. I'm not sure if he really understands what it means, but when he saw her picture on the screen he said "is that a ghost?" So funny!

So now we begin the process of getting to buy all the cute clothes...and girly things!

Here she is:

Rainy Day Blues

Well, when you have been inside all day with a 2 1/2 year old and it is raining outside...everyone starts to go a bit stir crazy. So my answer, to put on our rain gear and head out in search of puddles to jump in. Needless to say, Bobby had a great time...he jumped in all kinds of puddles (some muddy and some not), but I'm sure that we will be doing that again in our future:)

PS. Sorry that the picture is a little fuzzy...it was taken with my phone, in the rain.
