Halloween wrap up

The kids and I have been to lots of Halloweeny activities this month. We went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch with Bobby's preschool class. They picked out pumpkins, rode a hayride, ran through the corn maze and lots of other activities.

We attended Bobby's preschool Halloween party...trick or treating and lots of yummy treats afterwards in his classroom. For this event B was a ninja and Samantha was my little hoot owl.

We decorated pumpkins at church. The painting was lots of fun for everyone.

And of course trick or treating. It was pouring down rain, and Sam wasn't able to get home early enough...so just a couple of pictures:) Oh, and Bobby decided last minute to switch out his costume and went with the Jedi.

4th of July

We were in WIlmington for the 4th (as usual). Once again, the fireworks were wonderful. The show went on for a good 45 minutes. Even boats on the water stopped to watch the show. And this year we took part in the Scotts Hill 4th of July parade. Bobby rode his bike and Samantha rode in her wagon. It was lots of fun, although Bobby thought that it was a race and kept asking if he had won:)

July in a nut shell

For the most part, we were in Wilmington for the month of July. We had a few days here and there at home, but we took full advantage of my parents and the beach! The hot temperatures were just a beast to deal with without the ability to go to the water. So here are a bunch of pictures from the month. The 4th will get it's own post next!

time flys...

Time is once again flying by...I can't believe that it is almost the middle of June. We have been in a bit of a whirlwhind the past few weeks. Both kids have had surgery: Samantha had tubes put in both ears, and Bobby had tubes put in and his tonsils and adenoids removed. So we have been recovering from all of that, and thankfully, I think that we are well on our way to a good rest of the summer...I hope.

My grandfather also passed away admist all of that. He was an amazing man and will be missed by many. I'm just so thankful that he was able to know and love both of my own children.

So hopefully the rest of the summer will slow down and we can all enjoy the beach, pool and whatever else comes our way!

Here comes the ring bearer....

Gray and Sarah asked Bobby to be the ring bearer in their wedding last month. I must admit that I was a bit aprehensive (if you know B well, you know why:)), but he was terrific. At the rehearsal there was a lot of sitting down, standing up, fidgeting and general 4 year old behavior. So I had serious doubts as to how things would go for the ceremony. But he surprised his mama, and was a great little ring bearer.

It was the perfect weekend in Beaufort, NC to celebrate Gray and Sarah! The rehearsal dinner fish fry was fantastic and although we didn't go...there was a catamaran sunset cruise. Saturday morning started with a delicious breakfast/brunch at the Beaufort Grocery Company and then the big event in the afternoon. The ceremony was great. Sarah was a beautiful bride and Gray a handsome groom. I didn't get any pictures of them together:( And the reception was held outdoors with music by the Band of Oz...which totally captivated my kids!

Congratulations to Gray and Sarah and thanks for letting us be a part of your special day.

Mother's Day Tea

I had a great Mother's Day. Bobby's school had a Mother's Day tea for all the mommies and their little ones. My instructions per Bobby were: "no baby sisters, no baby brothers, no daddies...just mommies and their boys." It was great to get a little one on one time with my little man. The kids sang a few songs, we had snacks and just enjoyed some time together. I am so grateful for this little boy that made me a mother for the first time.

Easter

We were still in Wilmington for Easter and had a wonderful day. We went to church at Sam's family church, 5th Ave Methodist, in downtown Wilmington. There was a beautiful service, another egg hunt, and then lunch at the Seaside Club.
