Final Summertime Hurrah

This weekend Bobby and I went to Wilmington...again. We just can't get enough of the beach. Unfortunately, I think that mother nature is going to put an end to our beach days:( But we tried for one final boating/beaching day on Saturday. My friend Megan and her daughter Anwyn came and joined us for some beach time fun. We will be sad to see the warm weather go, but I am looking forward to all the things that fall and winter bring...more time at the park (without sweat and mosquitos), pumpkin season and all the holiday activities. Here are some pictures from Saturday. We hope that everyone has been able to enjoy their summer as much as we have. Thanks Mummu and Papa for always opening the doors for us!

Abbey Nature Preserve Dedication

I am way behind in putting this post out there, so I am sorry for the delay. On September 12, we finally had the dedication for the nature preserve or "park" as my family calls it. The park was created by family and the NC Coastal Land Trust, in memory of my Aunt Margaret Abbey. It was a wonderful ceremony, and had a record turn out for that type of event. It was wonderful to see how much interest and loyalty that the local communities have put into the park.

Much of the leg work for the ceremony was done by my dad and my Aunt Betty, with the help of many volunteers. So thank you to all of you! It was wonderful, especially to see Papa do the ribbon cutting.

Vegas Vacation

Last week Sam and I headed to Vegas with some friends for the week. We had a great time, although we certainly didn't hit it big!! Sadly, I have decided that I am the unluckiest person out there. While others were winning in the hundreds, I had a big win (for the entire week) of $25....very sad. But nonetheless, I had a great time. It was nice to just rest and relax and have some time to ourselves. Thanks so much to the wonderful babysitting services of GG, Mummu and Papa. Bobby had a wonderful time and it made it so much easier to leave him, knowing that he was in such good hands. I don't think that he has ever been to the park that many times in one week at any other time in his life!

Foy Family Fun Day

This past Sunday we had a Foy Family Fun Day to honor our grandfather for all that he has done for us this past year. My cousin Karen had us all over to her house and a good time was had by all. She has a beautiful pool and backyard, and the number one fan was Bobby! He was in the pool for almost 5 hours with a short break for a short nap.

Papa has done so much for all of us and changed all of our lives and it was great to be able to tell him how much it has meant to all of us.

Play Dough Time

Yesterday, my friend Sue was brave enough to have us all over for some fun with play dough. It was complete mayhem with all the little ones running around, yelling, crying and having a good time. Play dough was made from scratch and we made hand and some foot prints of the kiddos. Bobby had a great time, although he still tends to try and eat the play dough, so you have to keep a close eye on him:) Here are some pictures from the day. They aren't the best, but you'll get the idea. Thanks again Sue for the hosting a great place for all the craziness!

And finally some time to rest and relax after all the fun.

Cousin Time

I am a bit behind in doing this post, but better late than never, right? Last week Bobby and I went to Wilmington (again) for a week at the beach. This time, most of the time was spent at Wrightsville Beach with Sam's sid of the family. This of course meant lots of time for Bobby with a few of his many cousins. It was wonderful that Bobby was able to spend so much time with Andrew, Cooper, Porter and Jack, and all of his many aunts! I only regret that we weren't able to spend time with all the boys (Sam's family is all boys for Bobby's generation), but the summer isn't over yet and hopefully we will be able to orchestrate that too!

A special thanks to Sally for allowing us a place for nap time, it made going to the beach so much more enjoyable for all of us!

I can't wait until we are able to all gather at the club again soon!

2nd Hair Cut

Today I took Bobby to get his second hair cut. It was long overdue, and he now looks so much like a big boy. Even more so than after his first hair cut. He did really well, although he was much more of a wiggle worm than he was the first time. But I guess that was to be expected since he only continues to get more and more busy with each passing day. Bobby's friend Brady also got a hair cut, so they were able to help entertain each other. Brady also looks like such a big boy now!! It is amazing how quickly they are growing up.
