Play time

I have been doing so much packing that I have felt a little neglectful of Bobby's "fun" time. So yesterday we had the SuperDuper Playdate at my friend Sue's house...I think that there were 14 kids and babies present! I forgot my camera, but needless to say, Bobby had a wonderful time. Sue had all kinds of outdoor stuff for them to play with (bikes, bubbles, water table, etc). All the moms brought a contribution to lunch and fun was had by all. Thanks Sue for such a fun day! Bobby was so tired (and didn't get a nap due to the repairs being done on our house) that he slept almost 13 hours last night!!!!

So this morning I decided to continue his fun and let him do some painting. I found a canvas while going through stuff, so I thought that he would enjoy making another master piece. Well, what started as a regular painting session...ended with a human canvas. As he finished off his artwork, he then began to paint himself. I had taken his shirt off when we started and I should have known that when he asked to "take pant off"...something was running through his little mind. But he had a great time and we have another piece of art for our new house! Enjoy the pictures below.

Progress...

I ran by the new house yesterday and progress is being made. The yard has been lanscaped (very nicely), the painting has begun and the "extra" room has been sheetrocked. I think that the tile work begins this week...Yeah!

As for the old house...repairs are being made this week and the movers are scheduled for next week...it's really happening. I'll try to keep everyone posted.

We're Moving!

Well, Sam and I decided to try and see if our house would sell and if so, if we could find something that we liked. We had decided to move to the Clayton area because we can get so much more house and land for our money. And we will end up being about 45 minutes closer to Wilmington!

So our house went on the market, and in the first two weeks we got an offer! It all happened very quickly. We started looking for houses and found one that we like too! The new house is in a neighborhood called Summerset Place in Clayton. It is brand new construction so I was able to choose all the finishing touches last week: cabinets, granite, tile, paint, hardwoods, all the light fixtures, etc. It has been a bit overwhelming, but fun to make all of these decisions.

We close on our house in Raleigh on May 29 and the new house will be ready on June 19. So Bobby and I will be heading to the beach for 3 weeks while we wait for the new house. So watch out Wilmington...here we come:)

Easter

This weekend has been jammed pack of family and Easter activities. We arrived in Wilmington Friday afternoon and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Saturday morning we went to Bobby's great grandmother Sarah's house for egg dying and hunting with his cousins. Trying to get five little boys to all do the same thing at the same time was quite the feat, but they had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed their time together. Saturday evening we had a cookout at the boatyard and more time for Bobby, Cooper and Andrew to run wild and free together.

This morning I went to sunrise service in the front yard. It was beautiful to watch the sun come up over the water while listening to the message delivered by the pastor. Then Sam, Bobby and I went to Sam's family church downtown for yet another egg hunt and Easter service.

And the day ended at Family Night Dinner at my Papa's house. Which of course meant lots of time with his Aunt Betty. Like I said it was a funfilled action packed Easter Weekend.

Egg Hunt

Today one of Bobby's play groups came over for an Easter Egg Hunt. Bobby has been in this play group, meeting once a week, for a couple of months now. It is so nice to see them all play together...and for Bobby to interact with girls. The other group that we usually play with is predominately boys! Bobby wasn't sure what to do with the eggs at first or the purpose of the whole thing, but once he caught on...he loved it. Especially once he realized that there was something good inside the eggs! We hope that everyone has a wonderful Easter and I will post some Easter pics next week.

Oh, and our house is on the market, so I'll keep everyone updated...3 showings so far and one scheduled for tomorrow!

The dentist

So, this morning I took Bobby to the dentist for the first time. I was expecting a complete disaster since every time we brush teeth, it is a battle and struggle. Much to my surprise, he was a complete angel. He didn't want to sit in my lap, like the doctor suggested, instead, he wanted to climb up into the "big" chair and lay down. Each time that Dr. Davis asked, he opened up and showed her all of his teeth. So thankfully we were able to get through the exam, cleaning and floride treatment without a single tear or struggle.

Meeting my niece!

I would like to introduce those that haven't met her yet to my new niece...Jade Lydia Smith! Last week, Bobby and I went to my parents to meet the newest addition to the family. And I must say that she is an absolutely adorable little princess. Bobby and Carson had a great time doing all kinds of fun things with Papa...the Children's Museum, Chick-Fil-A, the park, and plenty of time digging in the dirt. And of course getting into all kinds of mischief all on their own. I have learned that you can not underestimate the talents and abilities of a 2 and four year old:)Mummu made wonderful meals...including a "picnic" dinner on the deck in the freezing cold. The neighbors probably thought we were a bit crazy!

I can't wait until the next visit to see how much Jade has grown, and to see if Bobby continues to love his "baby Jade." He was so cute wanting to know where she was all the time and always trying to take care of her. Here a few pictures that I took, sorry that I don't have more.
